Fremont, NE- The Moo win their 27th game of the season in a thrilling 8-7 walk-off win against the Hastings Sodbusters. Fremont now moves to 11-3 in the 2nd half, 2 games up in 1st place(27-16 overall), while Hastings is now 4-11 in the 2nd half(18-24 overall).
The Moo would open up the scoring in the 3rd inning with two runs started by a Nico Azpilcueta laser of a solo HR, then a Derian Morphew single scoring Bentley Boekhout. Three more runs would be added on in the 3rd, jumpstarted by a bases-loaded walk of Boekhout that scored Jason Axelberg, then Matt Spear would score on a passed ball before a Zane Skansi single scored Nico Azpilcueta.
Hastings would score once in the 4th, two in the 5th, and four in the 8th to make it 7-6 going into the 9th. A Morphew single would score Axelberg to tie the game back up at 7 but in the next at-bat, it would be Kanin Dodge getting hit by a pitch that brought home the winning run in Evan Rowe for the final score of 8-7.
Tyler Seebaum was credited with the win for the Moo finishing out the top of the 9th, allowing no runs on no hits, and striking out two. Brayden Mackey was charged with the loss for the Sodbusters going 0.1 innings, allowing the winning run on three hits, with one strikeout. The Moo and Sodbusters will play again this time in Hastings, opening up with a doubleheader on Wednesday that will start at 5:05 PM CT.
