The Moo win their 28th and 29th game of the season in a doubleheader against the Hastings Sodbusters 7-2 and 8-1

Fremont, NE- The Moo win their 28th and 29th game of the season in a doubleheader against the Hastings Sodbusters 7-2 and 8-1. The Moo now move to 13-3 in the 2nd half, three games up in 1st (29-16 overall). The Sodbusters now move to 4-13 in the 2nd half, 9.5 games back of 1st (18-26 overall).
In Game 1, it would be a pitcher's duel between the starting pitchers, Evan Panjwani for the Moo, and Jake Schroeder for the Sodbusters, until the 6th inning. Panjwani went all seven innings getting the win, allowing two runs on eight hits, and striking out seven. Schroeder would be charged with the loss going five and a third innings, allowing four runs on six hits, and striking out four in the process.
It would be Fremont who blew the game open with four runs in the 6th jumpstarted by a Nico Azpilcueta single that scored Ben Higdon, then a Bentley Boekhout single scored Tyler Harrington and Jason Axelberg. Zech Samayoa would get the fourth run on a sac-fly that scored Azpilcueta. Fremont would get three more in the 7th on a Zane Skansi groundout that scored Kanin Dodge, then a Harrington triple scored Higdon before a bases-loaded walk of Samayoa scored Harrington.
In Game 2, it would be all Moo starting it off with five runs in the 3rd. That would be sparked by a Dodge fielder's choice that scored Samayoa, then a Higdon triple scored Dodge and Ian Graf, then a Harrington fielder's choice scored Higdon, and finally, an error on Hastings allowed Harrington to score. A Boekhout single in the 5th would score two more in Harrington and Axelberg, then a Higdon single scored Graf in the 6th.
Marco Ibarra would go the distance for Fremont and get the win going all seven innings, allowing one run on four hits, and striking out five. Nate Zyzda would be charged with the loss for Hastings going two innings, allowing four runs on two hits, and striking out three in the process. The Moo and Sodbusters will play one more time tomorrow at 6:35 PM CT with the series sweep on the line before heading back home for a three-game series against the Nebraska Prospects this weekend.
