Fremont, Nebraska - The 2023 Independence League Baseball championship series will have a rematch next week, as the Fremont Moo will host the Casper Spuds in a rescheduled series June 10 and 11. First pitch is set for 7:05 p.m. both days.
The two teams, who currently take up the top two spots in the league standings, were originally supposed to play at Historic Moller Field on May 30 and 31. But inclement weather forced a postponement.
This will be the first matchup between the two squads since Fremont’s 8-1 win over Casper in game five of the 2023 ILB Championship Series to clinch the title for the Moo.
The previously scheduled June 11 matchup between the Moo and the Nebraska Prospects has been moved to Wednesday, July 10, with a 7:05 p.m. first pitch.
With the rescheduled Casper series, the Moo will now begin 11 games in 10 days. Fremont has nine straight home games starting on Thursday, before traveling to Hastings on Saturday, June 15 for a doubleheader with the Sodbusters.
