Fremont, Nebraska- The Fremont Moo snapped their four-game losing streak in a 15-2 victory over the Oahe Zap, Friday night at Historic Moller Field. Fremont smashed four home runs, while Jayson Willers recorded seven RBI's. Tyson Romero pitched 7.0 innings striking out thirteen Zap hitters, in the win.

Fremont started the scoring in the first. Christian Hobbs led off with a single. Then, Ben Swails reached on a fielder's choice. Tyman Long singled to put runners at the corners. Next, Jayson Willers grounded out to the pitcher, scoring Swails, to make it 1-0.

The Moo offense exploded in the second inning. Neil Jansen led off with a single and advanced to second on a wild pitch. Andrew Kirchener grounded out to second, advancing Jansen to third. Then, Jansen scored on a wild pitch, making it 2-0. Trey Nichols walked and moved to second on a wild pitch. Tyler Hummel, Hobbs and Swails were all hit by pitches, the latter scoring Nichols to make it 3-0. Two batters later, Willers hit a bases-clearing double to make it 6-0. The next batter, Henry Hayman, hit an 0-1 pitch from Zap starter John Patty over the left field fence for a two-run home run, making it 8-0.

In the third, Oahe brought in reliever Daniel Clark. On the second pitch he threw, Kirchener hit a solo home run to right field, making it 9-0. Nichols followed with a single and Hummel drew a walk. Two batters later, Swails singled to load up the bases. Long hit into a fielder's choice, knocking in Nichols to put Fremont up 10-0. Next, Willers hit an RBI single, scoring Swails to make it 11-0, Fremont.

In the fifth inning, Hobbs hit his first home run of the season. He smacked a 1-0 pitch from Clark over the right field fence, to make it 12-0. Swails drew a walk, then advanced to second on a wild pitch. Long hit a ground ball to short, but an errant throw allowed him to reach, and Swails scored, making it 13-0. Then, on a 2-2 pitch, Willers hit a majestic shot over the left field fence, for a two run home run, putting Fremont up 15-0.

The Zap got on the board in the eighth inning. With one out, Trevor Seagraves singled before Jackson Mix reached on a dropped fly ball in right field, to put runners at second and third. Trenton Duchscherer hit a sacrifice fly to left field, scoring Seagraves to make it 15-1. Mix would advance to third on a wild pitch, then score on a passed ball, to make it 15-2.

In the ninth, Jacob Ortiz came on and walked the leadoff batter, Jared Heck. However, he got Yuki Gushi to fly out to right. Then, Tyler Hoffman hit a line drive to Swails at short, who threw back to first to double off Heck, for the final out of the game.

Tyson Romero (3-0) earned the win for the Moo. The Lincoln native, at Nebraska Wesleyan, pitched 7.0 innings, giving up four hits, one walk, struck out three and had one wild pitch. Evan Kleinhans pitched 1.0 inning in his Moo debut. The Berkeley, California native at Columbia University gave up one hit, two unearned runs, walked two, struck out two and had two wild pitches. Jacob Ortiz, the Tucson, Arizona native at Cerro Coso Community College, walked one batter.

Oahe's John Patty (0-1) took the loss. He pitched 2.0 innings, giving up five hits, eight runs, walked one, struck out two, yielded the home run to Hayman, had four wild pitches and hit three batters. Daniel Clark pitched 3.0 innings, giving up seven hits, six earned runs, walked two, struck out two, gave up three home runs to Kirchener, Hobbs and Willers, and had one wild pitch. Collin Quandee pitched 3.0 innings, giving up one hit.

Offensively, Fremont's Christian Hobbs was 2-for-4. The Omaha native from Black Hawk Community College, hit a solo home run. Ben Swails was 1-for-3. The Tiffin, Iowa native at the University of Iowa stole a base and had an RBI. Tyman Long was 1-for-4. The Sioux Falls, South Dakota native at College of Southern Nevada, had one RBI. Jason Willers was 3-for-5. For the second time in three games, the Davenport, Iowa native at Morningside University was a triple shy of the cycle. He homered and had seven RBI's. Henry Hayman was 2-for-4. The Melbourne, Australia native from Barton County Community College, hit a home run and had two RBI's. Neil Jansen was 2-for-5. The Cypress, California native at San Jose State had a single and a double. Andrew Kirchener was 1-for-4. The Lakewood, California native at UNLV hit a solo home run.

More information: The seven RBI's by Willers set a 2023 season high for any Moo player. Tyson Romero's thirteen strikeouts also set a season high for any Moo pitcher in an outing, this year. With the win, Fremont snapped its four-game losing streak, which was Fremont's longest of the year. The Moo now lead the season series over the Zap, 4-0.

FREMONT, Neb. – Fremont Moo continued its four-game series against the Sedalia Steamers on Fireworks Friday. Behind a dominant pitching performance from Wyatt Henry and a powerful offensive attack, the Moo rolled to an 11-1 run-rule victory in eight innings. After a scoreless first inning, the Moo bats came alive in the second. Kye Privett led off with a single up the middle, and Nate Wachter followed with a walk. Jacob Coshenet then blasted a three-run homer to left field to give the Moo an early 3-0 lead. Eamon O'Gorman kept the inning going with a double to left before Giovanni Malatesta singled up the middle to put runners on the corners. Carter McPeak followed with a single, and a fielding error allowed him to advance to second while O'Gorman and Malatesta scored, extending the lead to 5-0. The Moo added another run in the third as Privett drew a leadoff walk and Wachter was hit by a pitch. A wild pitch advanced both runners before O'Gorman lifted a sacrifice fly to score Privett and make it 6-0. Sedalia scored its lone run of the game in the fourth on back-to-back doubles. After two quiet innings, the Moo regained the momentum in the seventh. Malatesta led off with a single to left before McPeak launched a two-run homer to left, extending the lead to 8-1. Coshenet, O'Gorman and Malatesta opened the eighth with three consecutive singles to load the bases. A one-out double by McPeak scored Coshenet and O'Gorman, while McPeak advanced to third on the throw home. Steamers Ride Early Offense Past Moo in Series Opener

FREMONT, Neb. – Fremont Moo opened a four-game series against the Sedalia Steamers on Thursday night at Moller Field. Sedalia's offense proved too much as the Steamers handed the Moo a 6-1 loss. The Steamers struck first with two runs in the first inning, added one in the second and scored two more in the fourth to build a 5-0 lead. The Moo scored their lone run of the game in the eighth inning as Matthew Marceau and Giovanni Malatesta led off with back-to-back singles. A groundout brought Marceau home to put Fremont on the board and cut the deficit to 5-1. Sedalia added an insurance run in the ninth and held the Moo scoreless in the bottom half of the inning to secure the 6-1 victory. Fremont (20-20) continues the series against Sedalia on Friday, July 24, for Fireworks Friday. First pitch is scheduled for 7:05 p.m.

Grand Island's Big Innings Sink Moo in Series Finale

FREMONT, Neb. – Fremont Moo wrapped up its two-game series against the Grand Island Fightin' Cranes on Wednesday night at Moller Field. Grand Island's offensive surge doomed the Moo to a 21-3 run-rule loss. Grand Island got on the board first, scoring two runs in the top of the first inning. Carter McPeak led off the bottom of the first with a two-out double to right field to get things started for the Moo. Easton Leahy followed with a single to bring McPeak home, cutting the deficit to 2-1. After a scoreless second inning for both teams, the Fightin' Cranes broke through with back-to-back big innings, scoring seven runs in the third and five more in the fourth to build a commanding 14-1 lead. Grand Island continued to swing the bats in the sixth, adding three runs to extend its lead to 17-1. The Moo snapped a four-inning scoreless drought in the bottom of the sixth. McPeak hit a one-out double before Leahy was hit by a pitch to put two runners aboard. Eamon O'Gorman singled to center field to score McPeak and put runners on the corners. O'Gorman then stole second, and Leahy scored on a Grand Island error to cut the deficit to 17-3. Grand Island added four more runs in the seventh to extend its lead to 21-3. The Fightin' Cranes then held the Moo scoreless in the bottom half of the inning to secure the 21-3 run-rule victory. Fremont Moo (21-19) will continue its homestand with a four-game series against the Sedalia Steamers. The series opens Thursday for Most Valuable Mom's Day.

Grand Island Edges Fremont in Wild 14-11 Contest

FREMONT, Neb. – The Fremont Moo returned home to host a two-game series against the Grand Island Fightin' Cranes. The series opened Tuesday night with a wild back-and-forth contest that kept fans on the edge of their seats before a late Grand Island rally in the ninth inning handed the Moo a tough 14-11 loss. Ripken Fleck, Carter McPeak and Burke Jasa each drew a one-out walk to start the first inning. A groundout advanced the runners, allowing Fleck to score and give the Moo an early 1-0 lead. The Moo heated up in the second as Wyatt Throckmorton led off with a walk, followed by a single from Matthew Marceau to put runners on the corners. Marceau then stole second base. Easton Mitchell, making his debut for the Moo, ripped a single off the left-field fence to score Marceau and Throckmorton. Fleck kept the inning alive with a line-drive single before Giovanni Malatesta reached on a fielder's choice to put runners on the corners once again. A wild pitch allowed Mitchell to score, and another single by McPeak to center field brought home Malatesta. Jasa then drew a walk before Eamon O'Gorman singled to load the bases. Nate Wachter, making his 2026 debut after playing for the Moo in 2025, singled to left field to score McPeak and keep the bases loaded. A sacrifice fly by Throckmorton brought home Jasa as the Moo built a 6-0 lead. The Fightin' Cranes snapped their scoreless streak with one run in the third and added three more in the fifth to cut the deficit to 6-4. Fremont answered in the bottom of the fifth as Malatesta led off with a single. McPeak and Jasa followed with back-to-back walks to load the bases. O'Gorman lined a single to right field to score McPeak and Malatesta. Wachter then drew a walk to reload the bases before Throckmorton drew another walk to force in Jasa and extend the Moo lead to 10-4. The Cranes responded with a seven-run sixth inning to take an 11-10 lead. Marceau drew a one-out walk to begin the eighth and promptly stole second. With two outs, he attempted to steal third and found himself in a rundown. Marceau escaped the pickle, and a throwing error by the Cranes left home plate uncovered, allowing him to race home and score the tying run. The heads-up play knotted the game at 11-11 and energized the Moller Field crowd. Grand Island answered in the ninth with three runs to reclaim a 14-11 advantage. The Cranes then held the Moo scoreless in the bottom of the inning to secure the victory. JEFFERSON CITY, Mo. – Fremont Moo wrapped up its trip to Jefferson City, Missouri, with a nine-inning contest on Sunday afternoon. The Moo used an early offensive surge and strong pitching to defeat the Renegades, 7-5. After two scoreless innings, the Moo offense broke through in the third. Giovanni Malatesta led off with a two-out single before Carter McPeak doubled to left field to score Malatesta. Easton Leahy drew a walk, and Eamon O'Gorman singled to load the bases. Burke Jasa then stepped to the plate and crushed a ball to right field for a grand slam, giving the Moo a 5-0 lead. The Moo stayed hot in the fourth as Malatesta was hit by a pitch to put a runner aboard. McPeak stepped to the plate and hammered a two-run home run to center field, extending the lead to 7-0. The Renegades broke through in the fifth inning and added more runs in the seventh, scoring five unanswered to cut the deficit to 7-5. Wyatt Henry shut down the Renegades over the final innings to secure the hard-fought victory as the Moo claimed the series finale, 7-5. A pitchers' duel between the two teams kept the game close until a late-inning surge by the Renegades handed the Moo a 5-1 loss. Jefferson City struck first, scoring one run in the second inning before adding another in the fifth to take a 2-0 lead. The Moo broke through in the seventh inning. Wyatt Throckmorton drew a one-out walk and stole second base. With two outs, Stradeer Richardson was hit by a pitch before Tyler Schroeder singled to left field, driving in Throckmorton to cut the deficit to 2-1. The Moo fell in a close contest, 6-5, on a walk-off by the Renegades. After a scoreless first inning, Jefferson City got on the board in the second, plating a run to take an early 1-0 lead. The Moo responded in the third as Ripken Fleck laced a two-out double to put a runner in scoring position. Fleck later scored on a Renegades error to tie the game at 1-1. Jefferson City regained the lead with one run in both the third and fifth innings to make it 3-1. Fremont answered in the sixth. Eamon O'Gorman led off by drawing a walk before Carter McPeak singled to center field to put two runners aboard. Easton Leahy followed with a walk to load the bases. SALINA, Kan. – Fremont Moo wrapped up its three-game series in Salina, Kansas, by cruising past the Salina Sliders in the finale with a 16-5, seven-inning run-rule victory. After a scoreless first inning, the Moo got on the board in the second. Brayden Mitchell drew a one-out walk to get things started before Jacob Coshenet ripped a two-out double to score Mitchell and give the Moo a 1-0 lead at the end of the inning. The Moo broke the game open in the third. Ripken Fleck, Giovanni Malatesta and Eamon O'Gorman drew three consecutive walks to load the bases. Easton Leahy laced a double to left field to score Fleck and Malatesta. Coshenet then crushed a three-run home run over the left-field fence to extend the lead to 6-0. Matthew Marceau reached on an error, and Tyler Schroeder followed with a two-out RBI single to make it 7-0. SALINA, Kan. – Fremont Moo continued its three-game series against the Salina Sliders on Wednesday night, cruising to an 11-3 victory. After a scoreless first inning, Jacob Coshenet led off the second with a two-out single to get the momentum rolling. Matthew Marceau singled down the third-base line to advance Coshenet to second. Brayden Mitchell kept the rally alive with a single to right field, driving in Coshenet and Marceau to give the Moo a 2-0 lead. Salina tied the game in the third, scoring two runs to even the score at 2-2. Coshenet led off the fourth with a single, and Marceau reached on a fielder's choice. Mitchell singled to put runners on the corners before a groundout allowed Marceau to score. Giovanni Malatesta followed with a single to bring home Mitchell and give the Moo a 4-2 lead. The Moo extended its lead in the fifth as Strader Richardson led off with a one-out single up the middle. Coshenet followed with a single to put two runners aboard. Marceau delivered the third consecutive single of the inning to score Richardson, and Mitchell added another RBI single to bring home Coshenet, making it a 6-2 game. Fremont put six runs on the board in the first inning. Giovanni Malatesta reached on a one-out error by the Sliders, and a groundout advanced him to second. Easton Leahy drew a walk before Eamon O'Gorman doubled to center field with two outs, driving in Malatesta and Leahy. Burke Jasa followed with a walk to keep the inning alive. Wyatt Throckmorton singled to center to score O'Gorman, and Matthew Marceau was hit by a pitch to load the bases. Ripken Fleck then singled to center, driving in Throckmorton to give the Moo a 6-0 lead. Salina answered with two runs in the bottom of the first to cut the deficit to 6-2.
