Fremont, NE- The Moo win their 25th game of the season in thrilling fashion with a 4-3 walk-off win in the 10th against the Hastings Sodbusters. The Moo now move to 9-3 in the 2nd half taking sole control of 1st place(25-16 overall). The Sodbusters now move to 4-9 in the 2nd half(18-22 overall).
It would not be the Moo opening up the scoring this time, it would be Hastings instead with a two-run 1st on a Blake Scott two-run HR. Fremont would strike back in the 4th and 5th with one run each, first on a Jason Axelberg single that scored Bentley Boekhout, then a solo HR by Jared Snyder, his first of the season, tied the game back up at 2.
Hastings would score another in the 6th to go back up 3-2 but a clutch single by Zane Skansi that scored Kanin Dodge kept the Moo tied up going into the 9th. Both teams would leave a runner on base going into the 10th with the league rules placing a runner on 2nd to start off a new half-inning for each team. Hastings would not be able to convert their opportunity in the 10th on a fantastic game-saving play by Dodge to turn the double play and keep the momentum in the Moo's favor. It would be the other half of the middle infield duo, Austin Baskin, who would end up hitting the walk-off single into the right-center gap to score Evan Rowe from 3rd to clinch the 4-3 win for Fremont.
Brody Sintek would start the game for the Moo in his last appearance of the summer going 5.2 innings, allowing three runs on eight hits, and striking out six. Then, Tyler Seebaum would come into the game going 2.1 innings, allowing no runs on no hits, and striking out five before Robbie Whelan would go the final two innings allowing no runs on two hits and striking out one.
