The Moo win their 17th game of the season and 1st in the 2nd half 15-9 against the Spearfish Sasquatch.

Fremont, NE- The Moo get their 17th win of the season and 1st in the 2nd half 15-9 against the Spearfish Sasquatch to avoid the series sweep. Fremont moves to 17-14 overall on the season two games out of 1st in 3rd place. Spearfish moves to 12-18 five and a half games back of 1st in 3rd place.
The Moo had struggled in the last three games or so getting their offense going. However, that was put to rest tonight as the Moo would strike first in the 1st with two runs on a Zane Skansi two-run shot scoring Kanin Dodge. Another two runs would come in the 2nd started by a Nico Azpilcueta groundout that scored Matt Spear, then Dodge getting a single that would score Bentley Boekhout.
Two runs for Spearfish in the 3rd brought them within two, but Derian Morphew erased that with a solo HR of his own. The Sasquatch would score three more in the 4th, but Fremont would strike back with three of their own in the bottom of the inning. That rally was started by a Morphew single that scored Dodge, then an Austin Baskin double scored Ben Higdon and Skansi. Baskin hit his 2nd HR of the season, a solo one, in the 6th inning to make it 9-5, but the 7th inning was when the Moo blew the game wide open.
Spearfish scored two in the top of the inning to get back within two, but that was wiped out with a six-run inning for the Moo. That outburst was sparked by a Skansi single that scored Hayden Lewis. Then a Morphew single and error by the Sasquatch RF on the same play scored Dodge, Higdon, and Skansi, clearing the bases. A Baskin single scored Morphew who made his way to 3rd on that previous error, then a Lewis single scored Baskin. Two more in the 8th would be all that Spearfish could muster for the final score of 15-9 in favor of the Moo.
Brody Sintek got his second win of the season going six innings, allowing five runs on nine hits, striking out eight. Connor Jones was charged with the loss for Spearfish going four innings allowing eight runs on nine hits, and striking out four in the process. Dodge and Skansi continued their hot streak at the plate 3-3 with three runs and 2-5 with 3 RBIs and three runs. Morphew would also have a nice night at the dish going 3-6 with five RBIs and two runs while Baskin went 3-6 with 4 RBIs and 2 runs.
