The Moo suffer a heart-breaking 20-19 loss to the Gem City Bison in the first of a 4-game series.

Laramie, WY- The Moo suffer a heart-breaking 20-19 loss off of a walk-off grand slam by the Gem City Bison in the bottom of the 9th. Fremont now moves to 9-8 on the season a game and a half back of 1st in 4th place while the Bison move to 6-12 on the season 6 games back of 1st.
Gem City would be the first to score going up 1-0 in the bottom of the 1st off an RBI single before the Moo would tie it back up in the next half-inning off an RBI single by Tyler Harrington scored Trey Nichols. The Bison would score 3 more in the bottom half of the 2nd off an error then an RBI groundout then another RBI single to make it 4-1. Another run by GC in the bottom of the 5th would make it 5-1 before the first HR for OF Zech Samayoa scored Nico Azpilcueta and Ben Higdon to get back within 1.
The Bison would erase that HR with 3 runs of their own off a solo HR and one RBI single and double. Fremont would score their most runs of any inning in the ballgame in the top of the 5th with 9 started off by Kanin Dodge getting to 2nd on an error, then Azpilcueta scored him on a single to center, then Higdon would score Azpilcueta with a single of his own. A double by Samayoa then a double by Harrington would score Higdon and Samayoa before Dodge came back up to the plate and hit a 3-run double to the left-field wall scoring Harrington, Ty Borgogno, and Zane Skansi. Azpilceuta would get the final two runs with a 2-run HR that scored Dodge.
GC would come back with 2 in the 5th and 5 in the 6th to make it a 15-13 ballgame before Fremont scored 3 in the 8th off a "Little League" HR by Azpilcueta, then an RBI triple by Higdon scored Nichols, and a sac-fly by Harrington scored Higdon. The Moo would get another 3 in the 9th off a bases-loaded walk of Dodge, then an RBI double by Samoyoa scored Dodge and Nichols which would be all that Fremont could manage. GC would load up the bases with 3 straight walks before a bases-loaded walk made it 19-16 before a walk-off Grand Slam by Mitch Winter ended the game at 20-19 in favor of the Bison.
Samayoa went 3-5 with 5 RBIs and 2 runs of his own, Harrington went 3-5 with 4 RBIs and one R, and Azpilcueta went 4-6 with 3 RBIs and 4 runs. The Moo would record 7 errors on the night which is their highest of the season so far beating out their first game of the season also against GC which had 4 errors. For GC Derek Wood went 4-6 with 3 RBIs, Tyler Godfrey went 3-4 with 3 RBIs and 4 runs, and Mitch Winter hit the walk-off grand slam to win the ballgame going 1-2 with 4 RBIs coming in for Calvin Webb at 1st.
Evan Rowe gets charged with the loss for the Moo allowing 2 runs on 1 hit and not being to record an out in his save appearance. Brody Sintek started the game for Fremont going 4 2/3 innings allowing 10 runs on 14 hits and striking out two while struggling to find his groove throughout his outing. RHP Caleb Lafunor gets the win for the Bison going 1 inning and allowing 3 runs on 1 hit and striking 1 in the process.
The Moo are back again tonight for a double-header to finish the suspended game from May 29th that was delayed due to heavy rain in the bottom of the 5th with no outs. They will also play the game that was originally scheduled immediately after the conclusion of the 1st game both games now being 7-inning contests.
