The Moo lose their 11th game of the season in a heartbreaking 8-7 loss to the Hastings Sodbusters

Hastings, NE- The Moo lose their 11th game of the season in heartbreaking fashion 8-7 against the Hastings Sodbusters in Game 3 of their 3-game series. Fremont now moves to 12-11 and 2 games back of 1st place while Hastings is now 13-8 and in 1st place in the Nebraskaland division.
As always, the Moo got the scoring started in the top of the 1st when Jason Axelberg hit a single to CF that scored Kanin Dodge to make it 1-0 before Evan Rowe hit another single to CF that scored Austin Baskin to make it a 2-0 ballgame. Hastings would come back in the bottom of the 3rd with 4 runs off a bases-loaded walk, 2 HBP's that scored runs, as well as an RBI groundout to make it 4-2. Fremont would come back in the 4th with 2 runs by Rowe's single that scored Axelberg and Dodge's single that scored Baskin to tie the game back up at 4.
The Sodbusters would take the lead for good in the 6th with 4 more runs started by a 2-RBI single, then an RBI single, and another RBI groundout to make it 8-4 from which the Moo would not be able to come back from. They would make a great effort in the 8th scoring 2 runs off Baskin's single that scored Axelberg and Dodge's single that scored Baskin and 1 in the 9th off another Baskin single that scored Bentley Boekhout but that would be all scoring-wise to make it an 8-7 loss for the Moo.
Baskin had his best night of the season in the loss going 4-5 with 2 RBIs and 3 R while Dodge went 3-4 with 2 RBIs and 1 R. Hayden Lewis would be charged with the loss for the Moo not managing any outs and letting up 3 runs on no hits walking 2 while Danny Garcia was credited with the win for Hastings going 4 innings allowing 2 runs on 5 hits striking out 2 in the process. The Moo will be back tonight to start a 13-game homestand against the Gem City Bison for their first trip to Historic Moller Field at 7:05 CST.
