Gering, NE- The Moo lose a heart-breaking Game 2 of the divisional playoff series against the Western Nebraska Pioneers 10-5. The series is now tied up at 1 with the deciding Game 3 tomorrow at 7:35 PM CST to see who will advance to the Independence League Championship series.
The Moo would get their first run of the ballgame in the 2nd inning when Ian Graf hit an RBI single scoring Derian Morphew. Ben Higdon would score in the 3rd when Derian Morphew hit a sac-fly to CF to make it a 2-1 ballgame. In the 6th, it would be Bentley Boekhout who scored Graf on an RBI single before Boekhout scored on the next at-bat on a wild pitch. Graf would score again in the 8th on a balk by the Pioneers pitcher but that would be all that Fremont could manage in the game.
Western Nebraska would get their runs with eight in the 6th to blow the game wide open as well as one in the 1st and 4th. Colby Harrison was charged with the loss for Fremont going 1 inning, allowing two runs(none earned) on three hits. Igancio Radney Reynoso was credited with the win for Western Nebraska going 3.2 innings and allowing three runs on one hit. Both divisional playoff series will go to a deciding Game 3 tomorrow night with the winners of both divisions starting the league championship series on Thursday night.
