FREMONT, Neb. – Fremont Moo continued its four-game series against the Sedalia Steamers on Fireworks Friday. Behind a dominant pitching performance from Wyatt Henry and a powerful offensive attack, the Moo rolled to an 11-1 run-rule victory in eight innings. After a scoreless first inning, the Moo bats came alive in the second. Kye Privett led off with a single up the middle, and Nate Wachter followed with a walk. Jacob Coshenet then blasted a three-run homer to left field to give the Moo an early 3-0 lead. Eamon O'Gorman kept the inning going with a double to left before Giovanni Malatesta singled up the middle to put runners on the corners. Carter McPeak followed with a single, and a fielding error allowed him to advance to second while O'Gorman and Malatesta scored, extending the lead to 5-0. The Moo added another run in the third as Privett drew a leadoff walk and Wachter was hit by a pitch. FREMONT, Neb. – Fremont Moo opened a four-game series against the Sedalia Steamers on Thursday night at Moller Field. Sedalia's offense proved too much as the Steamers handed the Moo a 6-1 loss. The Steamers struck first with two runs in the first inning, added one in the second and scored two more in the fourth to build a 5-0 lead. The Moo scored their lone run of the game in the eighth inning as Matthew Marceau and Giovanni Malatesta led off with back-to-back singles. A groundout brought Marceau home to put Fremont on the board and cut the deficit to 5-1.  Sedalia added an insurance run in the ninth and held the Moo scoreless in the bottom half of the inning to secure the 6-1 victory. Grand Island's Big Innings Sink Moo in Series Finale

FREMONT, Neb. – Fremont Moo wrapped up its two-game series against the Grand Island Fightin' Cranes on Wednesday night at Moller Field. Grand Island's offensive surge doomed the Moo to a 21-3 run-rule loss.  Grand Island got on the board first, scoring two runs in the top of the first inning. Carter McPeak led off the bottom of the first with a two-out double to right field to get things started for the Moo. Easton Leahy followed with a single to bring McPeak home, cutting the deficit to 2-1. After a scoreless second inning for both teams, the Fightin' Cranes broke through with back-to-back big innings, scoring seven runs in the third and five more in the fourth to build a commanding 14-1 lead. Grand Island continued to swing the bats in the sixth, adding three runs to extend its lead to 17-1. The Moo snapped a four-inning scoreless drought in the bottom of the sixth. McPeak hit a one-out double before Leahy was hit by a pitch to put two runners aboard. Eamon O'Gorman singled to center field to score McPeak and put runners on the corners. O'Gorman then stole second, and Leahy scored on a Grand Island error to cut the deficit to 17-3. Grand Island added four more runs in the seventh to extend its lead to 21-3. The Fightin' Cranes then held the Moo scoreless in the bottom half of the inning to secure the 21-3 run-rule victory. Fremont Moo (21-19) will continue its homestand with a four-game series against the Sedalia Steamers. The series opens Thursday for Most Valuable Mom's Day.

Grand Island Edges Fremont in Wild 14-11 Contest

FREMONT, Neb. – The Fremont Moo returned home to host a two-game series against the Grand Island Fightin' Cranes. The series opened Tuesday night with a wild back-and-forth contest that kept fans on the edge of their seats before a late Grand Island rally in the ninth inning handed the Moo a tough 14-11 loss.  Ripken Fleck, Carter McPeak and Burke Jasa each drew a one-out walk to start the first inning. A groundout advanced the runners, allowing Fleck to score and give the Moo an early 1-0 lead. The Moo heated up in the second as Wyatt Throckmorton led off with a walk, followed by a single from Matthew Marceau to put runners on the corners. Marceau then stole second base. Easton Mitchell, making his debut for the Moo, ripped a single off the left-field fence to score Marceau and Throckmorton. Fleck kept the inning alive with a line-drive single before Giovanni Malatesta reached on a fielder's choice to put runners on the corners once again. A wild pitch allowed Mitchell to score, and another single by McPeak to center field brought home Malatesta. Jasa then drew a walk before Eamon O'Gorman singled to load the bases. Nate Wachter, making his 2026 debut after playing for the Moo in 2025, singled to left field to score McPeak and keep the bases loaded. A sacrifice fly by Throckmorton brought home Jasa as the Moo built a 6-0 lead. The Fightin' Cranes snapped their scoreless streak with one run in the third and added three more in the fifth to cut the deficit to 6-4. Fremont answered in the bottom of the fifth as Malatesta led off with a single. McPeak and Jasa followed with back-to-back walks to load the bases. O'Gorman lined a single to right field to score McPeak and Malatesta. Wachter then drew a walk to reload the bases before Throckmorton drew another walk to force in Jasa and extend the Moo lead to 10-4. The Cranes responded with a seven-run sixth inning to take an 11-10 lead. Marceau drew a one-out walk to begin the eighth and promptly stole second. With two outs, he attempted to steal third and found himself in a rundown. Marceau escaped the pickle, and a throwing error by the Cranes left home plate uncovered, allowing him to race home and score the tying run. The heads-up play knotted the game at 11-11 and energized the Moller Field crowd. Grand Island answered in the ninth with three runs to reclaim a 14-11 advantage. The Cranes then held the Moo scoreless in the bottom of the inning to secure the victory. The Moo used an early offensive surge and strong pitching to defeat the Renegades, 7-5. After two scoreless innings, the Moo offense broke through in the third. Giovanni Malatesta led off with a two-out single before Carter McPeak doubled to left field to score Malatesta. Easton Leahy drew a walk, and Eamon O'Gorman singled to load the bases. Burke Jasa then stepped to the plate and crushed a ball to right field for a grand slam, giving the Moo a 5-0 lead. The Moo stayed hot in the fourth as Malatesta was hit by a pitch to put a runner aboard. McPeak stepped to the plate and hammered a two-run home run to center field, extending the lead to 7-0. A pitchers' duel between the two teams kept the game close until a late-inning surge by the Renegades handed the Moo a 5-1 loss. Jefferson City struck first, scoring one run in the second inning before adding another in the fifth to take a 2-0 lead. The Moo broke through in the seventh inning. Wyatt Throckmorton drew a one-out walk and stole second base. The Moo fell in a close contest, 6-5, on a walk-off by the Renegades. After a scoreless first inning, Jefferson City got on the board in the second, plating a run to take an early 1-0 lead. The Moo responded in the third as Ripken Fleck laced a two-out double to put a runner in scoring position. Fleck later scored on a Renegades error to tie the game at 1-1. Jefferson City regained the lead with one run in both the third and fifth innings to make it 3-1. Fremont answered in the sixth. Eamon O'Gorman led off by drawing a walk before Carter McPeak singled to center field to put two runners aboard. Easton Leahy followed with a walk to load the bases. After a scoreless first inning, the Moo got on the board in the second. Brayden Mitchell drew a one-out walk to get things started before Jacob Coshenet ripped a two-out double to score Mitchell and give the Moo a 1-0 lead at the end of the inning. The Moo broke the game open in the third. Ripken Fleck, Giovanni Malatesta and Eamon O'Gorman drew three consecutive walks to load the bases. Easton Leahy laced a double to left field to score Fleck and Malatesta. Coshenet then crushed a three-run home run over the left-field fence to extend the lead to 6-0. Easton Leahy drew a walk before Eamon O'Gorman doubled to center field with two outs, driving in Malatesta and Leahy. Burke Jasa followed with a walk to keep the inning alive. Wyatt Throckmorton singled to center to score O'Gorman, and Matthew Marceau was hit by a pitch to load the bases. Ripken Fleck then singled to center, driving in Throckmorton to give the Moo a 6-0 lead. Salina answered with two runs in the bottom of the first to cut the deficit to 6-2. Carter McPeak led off the second with a single to left field. O'Gorman and Jasa each drew a walk to load the bases with one out. Throckmorton drew a bases-loaded walk to score McPeak, and Marceau was hit by a pitch to force in O'Gorman, extending the Moo's lead to 8-2. The Sliders answered with three runs in the bottom of the second to cut the lead to 8-5. Malatesta led off the third with a single to left before McPeak doubled, moving Malatesta to third. Leahy drew a walk to load the bases. Jasa drew another walk to score Malatesta, and Throckmorton's sacrifice fly brought home McPeak to extend the lead to 10-5. The Moo continued to rally in the fourth. Tyler Schroeder led off with a double before Fleck was hit by a pitch and Malatesta drew a walk to load the bases. A groundout scored Schroeder to make it 11-5. O'Gorman was then hit by a pitch to load the bases once again, and Jasa drew his fourth walk of the night to score Fleck and make it 12-5. Salina added a run in the fifth to trim the lead to 12-6. Jasa singled with one out in the seventh before Marceau doubled to right field, driving him home. Schroeder drew a walk, and Fleck singled to right to score Marceau, extending the Moo's lead to 14-6. The Sliders mounted a late rally in the ninth, scoring three runs, but the Moo closed out the game to secure the 14-9 victory.
