Fremont, Nebraska - For the second time this week, the Fremont Moo had a game rained out and followed it up with a doubleheader the next day. After responding with a doubleheader sweep of the Oahe Zap on Monday, Saturday night's results at Historic Moller Field versus the Spearfish Sasquatch were quite the opposite. Friday's rainout forced a Saturday doubleheader, which Spearfish swept from Fremont, 11-1 and 6-1.

In game one, Spearfish jumped on Fremont early. Leadoff batter Danny Cook singled off Fremont starter Reese Kortum. Then, Jordan Boman hit a Kortum 2-2 pirch over the left field fence for a two-run homerun, putting the Sasquatch up, 2-0.

Fremont responded in the bottom of the first. With two outs, Fremont designated hitter Tyrus Petsche hit a 3-2 pitch off Spearfish starter Cade Bleeker over the left field fence for a solo homerun, making the score 2-1. However, that is as close as the Moo would be in either game, the rest of the night.

In the top of the third, the Sasquatch's Boman led off the inning with a single. Two batters later, Javier Marcial doubled, to put runners at second and third. The next batter, Dylan Darnall, hit an rbi single, scoring Boman, to make it 3-1, Spearfish.

The Sasquatch extended the lead in the top of the fourth inning. WIth one out, Micah Coleman singled before Danny Cook did the same, to put runners at first and second. Coleman stole third and on an errant throw by catcher Grant Nottleman, Coleman scored to make it 4-1.

Spearfish put together its biggest inning in the top of the sixth. The Sasquatch sent ten batters to the plate and scored four runs. Against Fremont reliever Baylor HIcks, Micah Wallette led off the inning with a walk. Two batters later, Micah Coleman did the same. Then, Danny Cook hit a ground ball to second, which Isaac Bonner misplayed, to load the bases. The Moo went to the bullpen and brought in Logan Anderson. His third pitch of his appearance hit Jordan Boman, which scored Wallette, making it 5-1. Then, Seth Nelson hit a two-rbi single, scoring Coleman and Cook, to make it 7-1. After Javier Marciel was hit by a pitch to reload the bases, Dylan Darnall drew a walk, scoring Boman, to make it 8-1, Spearfish.

The Sasquatch added three more runs in the top of the seventh. Brinkley Evans led off with a single. Micah Coleman drew a walk to put runners at first and second. Two batters later, Seth Nelson hit a 1-1 pitch from Anderson over the right field fence for a three-run homerun to put Spearfish ahead 11-1.

Patrick Rakes singled to load the bases. Then, Micah Coleman hit a ground ball to shortstop. Hunter Snyder flipped to Parker Mooney at second to get the forceout on Rakes, but the relay throw to first went array. Two runs scored, and the Sasquatch led 3-0.

In the top of the second, with two outs, Ryan Bachman drew a walk. A wild pitch advanced him to second. Then, Jordan Boman hit an rbi single, scoring Bachman, to make it 4-0, the Sasquatch.

Ripken Fleck led off with a one-out single, and Wyatt Throckmorton followed with a double to center field to move Fleck to third. Fleck was caught in a rundown between third base and home plate, but an errant throw by the Salina catcher allowed him to score, cutting the deficit to 2-1. Burke Jasa stepped to the plate in the ninth and launched a solo home run, his third consecutive game with a homer, to tie the game at 2-2 and force extra innings. The Sliders capitalized in the 10th inning under the extra-inning rule. The automatic runner placed on second, advanced home on a sacrifice fly, giving Salina the 3-2 walk-off victory.
