Moo Sweep Sliders in Doubleheader to Complete Three-Game Series Sweep

FREMONT, Neb. – Fremont Moo wrapped up a three-game series against the Salina Sliders on Sunday evening with a doubleheader. The Moo won Game 1, 6-1, before walking it off in extra innings for a 3-2 victory in the second game to complete the series sweep.
GAME ONE: Fremont 6, Salina 1
After a scoreless first inning, Easton Leahy and Eamon O'Gorman drew back-to-back walks to lead off the second and get things started for the Moo. Leahy advanced to third on a passed ball to put runners on the corners. Tyler Schroeder lifted a sacrifice fly to right field to score Leahy and give the Moo a 1-0 lead.
The Sliders tied the game in the top of the third, scoring one run to make it 1-1.
Dominic Palma, Ripken Fleck and Giovanni Malatesta opened the bottom of the third with three consecutive singles. Carter McPeak followed with an RBI single to score Fleck and give the Moo a 2-1 lead. Malatesta later scored, and O'Gorman drove in McPeak with a single to center field to extend the lead to 4-1.
Malatesta and McPeak reached on back-to-back Salina errors to begin the fifth. Leahy singled to left field to score Malatesta before O'Gorman followed with an RBI single to right, bringing home McPeak to make it 6-1.
Fremont shut down Salina the rest of the way to secure the 6-1 victory.
Gil Schroeder earned the win in his Fremont Moo debut, tossing 3.2 scoreless innings while allowing two hits, walking one and striking out six.

GAME TWO: Fremont 3, Salina 2 (9 innings)
After a scoreless first inning, Matthew Marceau drew a leadoff walk in the second. He stole second before a throwing error allowed him to score, giving the Moo a 1-0 lead.
Salina tied the game in the sixth inning, sending the game to extra innings.
The Sliders took a 2-1 lead in the top of the eighth.
Tyler Schroeder advanced to third on a bunt in the bottom of the eighth, and a wild pitch allowed him to score the tying run, making it 2-2 and forcing a ninth inning.
Wyatt Throckmorton laid down a sacrifice bunt to advance O'Gorman to third. Matthew Marceau drew a walk, and Schroeder was hit by a pitch to load the bases. Evan Androvett then drew a walk to force home O'Gorman, giving the Moo a 3-2 walk-off victory and completing the series sweep.
Harrison Acquaro earned the win after allowing one run on one hit over 3.0 innings while walking one and striking out one.
