Moo lose their second game of the season 7-5 against the North Platte Plainsmen to move to 3-2 on the season.

Fremont, NE- The Moo lost the lead late in the 9th inning and wasn't able to recover before losing 7-5 to the North Platte Plainsmen who avoided the series sweep moving to 5-4 on the season. The Moo move to 3-2 with the last 3 games of the homestand coming up this weekend Friday-Sunday against the Spearfish Sasquatch.
The Moo got things going in the first inning with a double by Zane Skansi to start it then another double by Kanin Dodge put runners in scoring position on 2nd and 3rd. A walk to Derian Morphew loaded up the bases for the Moo but were only able to get one run out of the inning with a Nick Balch sacrifice fly to score Skansi from 3rd.
The Plainsmen were able to tie the game back up at 1-1 in the top of the 3rd inning off OF Bryce Zimmerer's liner to short which gave him an infield RBI single scoring Garrett Thompson from 3rd. Fremont would go back up 2-1 in the bottom of the inning when Balch would get his 2nd RBI of the night scoring Kanin Dodge from 3rd on an error by the Plainsmen 2nd basemen giving him an RBI single. Evan Rowe would get his 1st home run of the season in the bottom of the 4th on a full count to make it a 3-1 ballgame.
The Moo were able to tack on 2 more runs in the bottom of the 5th inning first with Balch's 3rd RBI of the night a double to left field scoring Morphew from 1st. The second run of the inning would come from an RBI single by Rowe into right field scoring Balch from 2nd which would be the last runs of the game. No action would happen between both teams until the top of the 8th inning for the Plainsmen.
The Plainsmen would score 3 runs in the 8th first on a fielding error throwing a ball past the 3rd basemen on a pickoff attempt from the Moo catcher Matt Spear. Then an RBI single by Connor Flagg would score Giancarlo Servin who hit a double after the fielding error and the 3rd run would be from a Hayden Lewis walk when there were bases loaded making the score 5-4.
The Plainsmen would get their 3 runs in the top of the inning off a 3-RBI double by Flagg to move the score to 7-5 which the Moo couldn't answer in the bottom of the inning. Bryce Butterfield earned the win for the Plainsmen going 2 innings allowing zero runs on one hit and striking out 3 in the process. Bobby Brown took the loss for the Moo as he surrendered 3 runs on 3 hits over 1 1/3 innings striking out only 1.
The Moo will start their 3-game series against the Spearfish Sasquatch to close out their first 6-game homestand of the season tomorrow at 7:05 PM CST.
