The Moo get their 31st and 32nd win of the season, in a doubleheader sweep of the Nebraska Prospects 4-1 and 4-2, respectively.

Fremont, NE- The Moo get their 31st and 32nd win of the season, in a doubleheader sweep of the Nebraska Prospects 4-1 and 4-2, respectively. The Moo now move to 16-4 in the 2nd half, three games up in 1st(32-17 overall), while the Prospects move to 5-7 in the 2nd half(15-16 overall).
In both games, it would be the Prospects that would open up the scoring but Fremont would have one big inning in both games that would prove the ultimate decider. In Game 1, the Prospects scored early in the 1st to go up 1-0, and it wouldn't be until the 5th that Fremont would mount their eventual game-winning comeback with four runs. That comeback was sparked by a Kanin Dodge single that scored Zech Samayoa, then a Derian Morphew sac-fly scored Hayden Lewis, before an Austin Baskin two-run HR scored himself and Dodge.
Kai Taylor would end up getting the Game 1 win for the Moo going five innings, allowing one run on seven hits, and striking out seven. Matt Dreher got his first save of the season for Fremont closing out the 7th, allowing one hit and striking out two in the process. Preston Menicucci would be charged with the loss for the Prospects going two innings, allowing four runs on four hits, and striking out one.
In Game 2, it would be the Derian Morphew show as he got both the win pitching three innings, allowing no runs on hits, as well as going 3-3 with two solo HRs. NEP would open it up once again in the 1st, but Morphew would tie it back up in the bottom of that inning with the first of his HRs. He would repeat that in the 4th to tie the game back up at two before Baskin would hit his 2nd HR of the day, which was another two-run blast that scored himself and Morphew. Colby Harrison would also get his first save of the season going one inning, allowing no runs on no hits, and striking out one.
The Moo will play the Western Nebraska Pioneers for the first time this season in what could be a potential precursor of the Nebraskaland Divisional playoff series Tuesday through Thursday of this week. As always, you can follow along with the game by listening to the live broadcast on Big Dog Country Radion 98.9 FM 1340 AM as well as fremontmoo.com.
