Bats come alive behind Dickinson's strong start to get Moo fourth win of the season
A three-day break came and went for the Moo as a rested and rejuvenated squad came into Moller looking to end an historic nine-game losing streak.
Luca Dickinson (Skyline) took the mound in his third start of the season and immediately went to work. He would finish with a final line of five (5.0) innings, three (3) runs, three (3) hits, and a season-high, eight (8) strikeouts.
The bats would follow behind him. A three-run, third inning would put the Moo up first. Carter Schellsmidt (Valparaiso) would score the first run on a passed ball. Cooper Fuchino (Creighton) would double home Seve Aguirre (Southern Oklahoma State). Michael Baker (Cal State-Chico) would single home Fuchino and Fremont's big inning would subside.
The Prospects would strike back as Dickinson's only mistake would be delivered to Elijah Russell would hit a game-tying, three-run home run to make it 3-3.
The Moo and Prospect bats would go silent until the 7th. In fact, the bats would remain silent as the Moo scored five runs on one hit. Passed balls, hit by pitches, walks, ground outs, sac flies, and a lone single from Preston Gajewski (NOC-Tonkawa) would score runs for the Moo as by the eighth, it was 8-3 Moo.
