Jasa's Grand Slam Highlights Ninth-Inning Rally in Loss

GRAND ISLAND, Neb. — The Fremont Moo continued their three-game series against the Grand Island Fightin’ Cranes on Sunday afternoon. After falling behind early, the Moo mounted a late rally in the ninth inning, highlighted by a grand slam, but came up short in a 7-4 loss.
Grand Island took control early with a five-run third inning to build a 5-0 lead. The Fightin’ Cranes added insurance runs in the sixth and eighth innings to extend their advantage to 7-0.
The Moo sparked some life in the ninth inning as Conner Thompson reached on an error to lead off the frame. After a one-out single by Giovanni Malatesta moved Thompson to second, Wyatt Throckmorton singled to right field to load the bases.
Burke Jasa stepped to the plate and launched a grand slam to right field, cutting the deficit to 7-4. Tyler Schroeder followed with a walk, and back-to-back singles by Eamon O’Gorman and Dominic Palma loaded the bases once again with two outs. However, Grand Island recorded the final out to halt the Moo's comeback attempt.
